Science in the News 1

This week I read a very interesting article on the thickness of Greenland, and how it is heating up down there.  Gravitational and seismic studies have been made by GFZ Helmholtz Centre Potsdam in Germany led by Alexey Petrunin which concluded on bad news. The thickness of that ice was about 200-250kms thick and now it has come down to 80-100kms thick. The point of the author of the article is kind of a shout out how global warming is coming faster than expected. I relate this article to last year's biology class in which we saw all the harmful things we did to Earth without us noticing that slowly harmed our planet.

This article unfortunately makes me kind of sad since, just knowing how global warming and climate changing is affecting Earth makes me think what Earth would be like in fifty years. In this case, the author is not taking a side, he is just stating a fact which I know it is something everyone should be worried about. I do thing the author investigated well before writing his article and did include convincing evidence regarding the problem. This article is only one of the little changes we will be seeing in the future, little by little our Earth will be falling apart if don't act now and try to save it.
